Suspicious activity detection sends you notifications whenever we detect unusual or potentially dangerous activity, such as suspicious sign-ins to your account.Google has a long history of providing billions of people with industry-leading automatic protection when accessing products like Gmail, Photos, Maps and Drive with their Google Account.īeginning this summer, you’ll have the option to migrate your Nest account to a Google Account, which comes with the added benefits of tools and automatic security protections: Our goal is simple: earn and keep your trust by clearly explaining how our products work and how we’ll uphold our commitment to respect your privacy.* One secure accountĪnother step that we’re taking to help keep your Google Nest devices secure is making Google Accounts available to anyone using existing Nest devices and services. Explain how you can control and manage your data, such as providing you with the ability to access, review, and delete audio and video stored with your Google Account at any time.Explain how your video footage, audio recordings, and sensor readings are used to offer helpful features and services, and our commitment for how we’ll keep your data separate from advertising and ads personalisation. And you can find the types of data that these sensors collect and how that data is used in various features in our dedicated Help Centre page. So, for example, the technical specifications for our connected home devices will list all audio, video and environmental and activity sensors – whether enabled or not. Explain our sensors and how they work more clearly. To give you a better understanding of how Google’s connected home devices and services will work in your home, we’ve outlined a set of privacy commitments that apply when these devices and services are used with Google Accounts. Our first step, as Google Nest, is to go beyond the idea of a “smart home,” and to focus instead on creating a “helpful home.”Īs part of that, we’re updating our Nest portfolio, privacy commitments, accounts and platforms. Today, we’re committing to that goal by bringing the Home products under the Nest brand. A home where products work together to help you feel comfortable and safe, keep an eye on things when you’re away, and connect you to friends and family. Since Nest joined Google’s hardware team last year, we’ve been working to make the smart home a little less complicated, and well, more helpful. I am still afraid that the devices will be removed again after a few days, but let's see.Google Nest: welcome to the helpful home Hopefully you guys have better luck with finding a permanent fix with the support (or product) team. Doesn't seem a permanent fix but for me it is working now. A few days later, the devices are still there. The devices popped up again in the home control screen and guess what. I changed the room of the Hub from living room to ground floor. Besides the fact that I would expect that the support team would pick it up with their colleagues from product team. Perhaps my English is not well enough, but I don't think I will be able to explain all the testing in 90 sec. That would give me 90 sec to explain everything (AGAIN.) and the product team would pick it up. The support team suggested to say: " Hey Google, send feedback" to the assistant. But once I set the Google assistant back to Dutch, the next day my Home control was empty again. I tried changing the settings of my phone and the Google assistant. I had several contact moments with the support team. Well, I'm afraid I don't have a good solution (yet).
